Frequently Asked Questions
Does the clinic prescribe weight loss drugs?
The philosophy at CWC is to optimise your health without the use of weight loss drugs as we believe this is a better long term approach to health and wellness.
Does the clinic prescribe any drugs?
It would be best to liaise with the GP in terms of prescribing of drugs that you may take long term as your GP is best placed to monitor.
What tests might be ordered after a consultation?
There will be a choice of metabolic blood panels that we might need to order, this will always be decided together and will cost extra as we use private lab facilities, please see under blood tests for an idea of what tests we offer.
We also have access to a DEXA scanner at CWC. We may advise you to undergo a DEXA scan to assess your visceral fat composition and muscle mass.
Can I self-refer for blood tests or a DEXA scan?
Whilst you can self-refer for blood tests we believe that these tests must be clinically relevant and useful for you so we would recommend an initial consultation first.
Regarding the DEXA scan, you cannot self-refer for this and must be referred by a medical professional. If deemed clinically relevant then we will authorise and order the investigation which you can book at reception at your convenience, the report will be processed within 7 days.
What happens if my blood tests come back abnormal?
We will always try to provide your blood results within 5 days (depending on the workflow at the lab) and this will be
communicated to you with a comprehensive letter summary.
What if after a consultation, I need a test that you can't do at CWC?
We will write to your GP on your behalf to explain what needs to be done so that they can take over your
care regarding that aspect.
Where can I park?
There is plenty of free on-site parking available at the clinic.
