Frequently Asked Questions

Does the clinic prescribe weight loss drugs?

The philosophy at CWC is to optimise your health without the use of weight loss drugs as we believe this is a better long term approach to health and wellness. However, we would recommend regular DEXA scans to track potential muscle mass loss and bone mineral density whilst on these drugs. The clinic offers this and will give other parameters such as VISCERAL FAT calculations.

Does the clinic carry out injections?

Yes. We also offer DUROLANE injections which are non-steroidal based (hyaluronic acid) please call the number or email. Steroid injections can be directly booked on the website however Durolane will need a phone consultation first.

Patient journey and what tests might be ordered after a consultation?

There will be a choice of blood panels that we might need to order, this will always be decided together and will cost extra as we use private lab facilities, please see under blood tests for an idea of what tests we offer.
We also have access to a DEXA scanner at CWC. We may advise you to undergo a DEXA scan to assess your visceral fat composition and muscle mass.

Microbiome testing and health quantification is very important, only 1% of your genome is human, the rest is bacteria!!

We have niche biomarkers such as CGM's, Omega 3 quant levels, Mineral tests and we now offer serum microplastic testing using the only lab who can do this in the UK.

PATIENT JOURNEY AT THE CWC

Can I self-refer for blood tests or a DEXA scan?

Whilst you can self-refer for blood tests we believe that these tests must be clinically relevant and useful for you so we would recommend an initial consultation first.

Regarding the DEXA scan, you cannot self-refer for this and must be referred by a medical professional. If deemed clinically relevant then we will authorise and order the investigation which you can book at reception at your convenience, the report will be processed within 7 days.

What happens if my blood tests come back abnormal?

We will always try to provide your blood results within 5 days (depending on the workflow at the lab) and this will be
communicated to you with a comprehensive report assimilated by the lab. There is also an option to do a review (recommended and can be online) where we go into detail regards blood tests and next steps in your lifestyle optimisation. Results will be sent to you in a chart pictogram format with detailed explanations.

What if after a consultation, I need a test that you can't do at CWC?

We will write to your GP on your behalf to explain what needs to be done so that they can take over your care regarding that aspect. Dr Avkash Jain is also an NHS GP so there will be seamless transition.

Where can I park?

There is plenty of free on-site parking available at the clinic with dabbles
