Dr Avkash Jain– MPharm, MBChB, MRCGP, DipBSLM(British Society of Lifestyle Med)
General Practioner and specialist in Lifestyle Medicine. Founder and medical director of the Cardiff Wellness Centre.
With over 15 years experience in General Practice, Acute Medicine, and Pharmacology, I currently serve as an NHS GP. My passion lies in optimising metabolic health—addressing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity—through non-pharmacological approaches grounded in the 6 Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.

Patients on GLP-1 agonists such as Mounjaro should be having regular body composition scans to track potential muscle mass loss and visceral fat, we can help.
Modern pharmaceuticals have much to offer. The clinic understands that a combination of lifestyle change and medication is necessary for many and that is the way forward, a hybrid approach, however I do not prescribe weight loss drugs.
Blood tests can not only help with diagnoses, they can be useful to track changes made and give goals
to treatment options.
